Marina's World Painting

$1,450.00
sold out

Loosely inspired by the famous yet gloomier, ‘Christina’s World’ by Andrew Wyeth. 40” x 30”. Acrylic on Canvas. January 2023. UV Protective Varnish.

“I love painting jellyfish because of their lightness. Their nearly weightless bodies that drift and flow in the ocean are symbolic, and for me, represent healing. There is so much sadness and heaviness in the world; the jellyfish I paint are meant to allow the viewer to breathe, relax and feel their body lighten. I got the idea for this painting while observing colorful Chinese lanterns swaying in the warm breeze of a tropical home. I noticed how their visual quality made me feel a physical sensation of lightness and peace.”
