Most people can agree that the humpback whale is a majestic being. Their eyes hold emotion, stories and connections. It has always been a dream of mine to see one up close in the wild and to look into their eye, knowing they see me on a spiritual level. This piece depicts delicate moths and butterflies resting on the face of the humpback to represent the fragility of their ecosystems. The little blue flowers are forget-me-nots, reminding us to continue to fight in protecting our great oceans.
